Our festive and fun Knitivity bucket collections are back at The Mall!

The bucket collections will run for 4 weeks from November 23 - December 23 and bucket collection shift times are Monday - Saturday, 10am - 8pm and Sunday 10:30am - 4:30pm. We'd like 2 volunteers per shift but if you're on your own, please don't be deterred from signing up for a shift, I'm sure another one of our lovely volunteers will join you.

To sign up, please contact: megan.austin@stpetershospice.org

More information about Knitivity from Alison Spurrell: The life-sized (6ft tall) Knitivity scene was originally crafted in 2012 by six ladies who had all retired from St Teresa’s School in Horfield and called ourselves the Knutty Knitters. The project was created in memory of our dear friend and colleague who was cared for by St Peter’s Hospice before her death in December 2011. The project took over a year to complete and has raised funds since Christmas 2012, when it first appeared in the window of the St Peter’s shop in Yate. Many newspaper, magazine and TV appearances followed, including a spot on ‘The One Show’ and our photo in ‘Hello’ magazine. There were requests for talks to community groups, together with annual displays of the Knitivity, including at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate. We also continued to knit replica Knitiviy sets as well as Christmas decorations etc to sell at our talks and Christmas fairs. The Christmas card featuring Knitivity also sold in its thousands. To date the Knutty Knitters have raised over £265,000 and we would love to hit £300K before the figures finally give up! Please support us by signing up for a 2 hour collecting stint and spreading the word.
